With many of the changes occurring in the world, we understand why there’s been a rise in Sim racing. Just recently, BMW M customer racing teams have expanded activities by heading into the virtual world. Two such teams to pay attention to include Turner Motorsport and Walkenhorst Motorsport. Thankfully, you can get into the action, even if you live in Orange County, CA. Let’s take a look at the world of Sim racing and what it means for local fans.

Sim Racing from BMW

Walkenhorst Motorsport has made the Nürburgring-Nordschleife (GER) its home for several years. However, you don’t want to overlook the Melle (GER) team in the process. With racing not permitted for some time, it became clear that the teams had to adapt to the situation. Walkenhorst Motorsport was able to put together two teams without much notice. They have been using two 2020 BMW X4 GT3s in the online racing simulation.

Additionally, Turner Motorsport focused on racing Nordschleife virtually. They took on the digital tracks with the 2020 BMW M8 GTE. Foley is a top contender to keep an eye on. Last year, he was the winner of the IMSA races, as well as Road Atlanta. It will be interesting to see what he can do this year. Whether it is with virtual or real racing, the team does a fantastic job of keeping enthusiasts engaged and excited.
